Hello Seedlings Family! This week we welcomed a new friend to the class, Arya! As we continue to gain new faces, the seedlings are working on assisting these friends around the school. In discussing “what makes a friend” we hope the seedlings will become empathetic, loving and supportive human beings with the new and old friends!
The animals have been all around the classroom this week. As the seedlings continue to use their imagination and interact with the animals, the have been moving from the tables to the floor to the shelves. We have been asking the question, “what do the seedlings love so much about animals?” for the past few months. However, each child’s interaction is different. At times we will see the animals helping each other in dangerous situations, or making various sounds. On other occasions the seedlings may be building for the animals, or caring for the animals. Each interaction gives insight on what the child is seeking to understand and their perspective about the world around them.
While continuing to explore color, we have introduced the seedlings to new perspectives. The mirror painting gave a reflective perspective in which the seedlings could see more than their work. Also this week we lined the light table with paper once again to get yet another perspective on their creations. Having the table light up emphasizes the details in their drawings. During art with Ms. Amy we continued the transportation of flow, where the seedlings were able to watch the paint flow downwards.
