Seedlings: water and colors

Seedlings: water and colors

Welcome Seedlings Family.

Note from Ms Shawna:  As I leave for my next journey to begin over these next 4 months, I will miss seeing all of your faces every day.  I want to thank everyone for wishing my family and I congratulations as we wait for our little girl to arrive.  I will be sure to visit lots before October and many photos will be shared with Ms Madison and Dot to Dot!  See you all very soon!! Hugs and love – Ms Shawna

As the seedlings get back to working in their own environment this week, we have taken some ideas and materials from last weeks explorations.  We have noticed a lot of color and water explorations happening inside and outside the classroom. The seedlings have been scooping and pouring, transporting and even enclosing the water.  They also have been asking for color to be added to their water play.

During our Dot to Dot made visible exploration we noticed the seedlings exploring  a variety of new parts. In order to encourage this interest we have added many of these  new loose parts around the class, including on the loft.  This has expanded the seedlings explorations and allowed them to really use their imaginations in their play.  We also put down paper and pens on the floor of the loft, so the seedlings can begin to connect their work with drawings as well. Building at this new perspective on the loft has led to some interesting and creative structures. Also due to the new loose parts that have been added, our building in other parts of the classroom has transformed as well.
