Nourishing a Lifelong Relationship With Food

Not every child expresses themselves through words. Some children think through building. Some through clay. Some through movement, light, storytelling, or design.

At Dot to Dot, food is not an afterthought.
It is part of how children learn, connect, discover, and care for themselves and the world around them.

More Than A Meal

Our food program is designed to nourish the body, spark curiosity and build meaninful relationship with foods.

The Why Story

Why Food Matters at
Dot to Dot

Food has always meant love to me.

Some of my most meaningful childhood memories happened gathered around food—stories being shared, meals being prepared, people slowing down enough to truly be together.

In today’s fast-moving world, food often becomes transactional. Parents are rushing. Children are rushing. Meals become one more thing to check off the list.

We wanted something different.

At Dot to Dot, our food program was born from a simple but meaningful intention:

to help children build a loving relationship with food from the very beginning.

Our Food Program Has Two Parts

Nourishment & Daily Meals

Nourishment That Feels Like Home

Children receive:

Morning Snack

Lunch

Afternoon Snack

Everything is:

  • made fresh in-house
  • prepared in our kitchen
  • minimally processed
  • free from artificial flavors and sugars
  • whole-food focused

Our menus are:

  • seasonal
  • four-week rotational
  • plant-forward
  • locally sourced whenever possible

Meals are shared family-style, turning eating into a daily ritual of connection, gratitude, and community.

Food Education

Food as a Language of Discovery

Food is more than something children eat. It becomes something they touch, peel, cut, inspect, smell, taste, grow, question, and explore.

In Food Education, children may:

  • cut and peel ingredients
  • blend and sauté
  • plant and harvest
  • explore ingredients
  • investigate texture, color, smell, and transformation
  • connect food to celebrations and culture

Led by Chef Aaron, exploration evolves through children’s interests, seasonal ingredients and classroom inquiries.

Food becomes:

Wonder

Confidence

Sensory
explortion

Connection

Food Education In Action

Food Is One of the
First Relationships We Build

And one children carry with them for life.
